I ran a Christmas Netrunner tournament and wrote some fiction for it

The Warwick Uni H2 CO: A Very Netrunner Christmas was a huge success, with many people wearing festive outfits, giving out gifts, and running festive decks.

The main thing I wanted to post though was the piece of fiction that premiered at the event, A Festive Netrunner Story That Will Also Explain How The Tournament Works, I Hope written by me and @AceEmpress. It was so popular that I sat down to record a performance of it a week later:

More about how the tournament went below the cut!

The tournament was my most successful one yet - 24 people turned up despite snow and train strikes to fight it out for festive glory. I also offered prizes to the two most festive individuals, which were these playmats (annotated by dovahbutt):

The playmats - one Hakarl 1.0 with a Santa hat, and a The Artist with reindeer antlers.

The winners were Scruff, whose decks were adorned with sneaky hand-drawn Christmas additions, and not_yeti, who wore a big Santa beard for the entire day and gave out gifts to his opponents.

A few participants have published their festive decks, so please check them out: SeaRose's Esa, which comes with fiction as well as art and ZoeHope's Sable, with similarly fun art.

It was a great example of why you should give Netrunner players the opportunity to be creative - they will do absolutely amazing things in the name of the game that they love!
