Hi! I'm Phoebe (or Bee) [she/they pronouns], and this is my little place for posting stuff. I'll be filling it up with old Cohost posts when I get the time. I have a couple of different interests which I'll hopefully be posting about:
- 🖥️ I'm a professional software engineer, with particular interests in compilers and programming languages.
- 🎓 I hold a PhD in Computer Science from University of Warwick. My research focused on program transformations for (Arrowised) Functional Reactive Programming. My thesis got approved in April 2025 so I will soon graduate!
- 🎶 I'm a musician. I've played trombone (and bass trombone) for about fifteen years, and picked up a few other instruments during lockdown that I like to mess about on - bass guitar, autoharp, and keyboard.
- 🎲 I'm a bit of a game designer, particularly interested in small board games and indie RPGs. I peaked too early by making a wargame that uses jenga towers which was far more fun than it had any right to be...
- 🎴 Most of my spare time involves playing Netrunner. I run tournaments and judge, including at high profile events: I was the Head Judge for EMEA Continentals 2024, which I will always be proud of. I'm not the best player but I am not bad!
